Biography

2013-14:  Played 16 minutes and corralled four rebounds in his debut in the black-and-gold at ASU... Set season best in minutes played (20) and tied his first-year highs in points (6), free throws made (4) and rebounds (4) at Navy on Nov. 23...  Made his first collegiate start three evenings later at Towson on Nov. 26... In his second start, led UMBC with 21 points (24 mins.) in the victory over UMES (Dec. 2)... Hit UMBC season team-best 10 field goals (10/13), the most since Ryan Cook converted 10 in the 2012-13 opener at Penn... His 21 points eclipsed his season total (20) to that point...  Corralled season-high five rebounds versus Navy on Dec. 30... Did not dress for games versus Albany and Maine, due to a lower body injury... Scored in double figures for the first time in league play with 13 points vs. Albany on Feb. 12... Earned game-high honors with 11 rebounds at Vermont on Feb. 15... UMBC was 2-0 when Kadiri scores in double figures... Earned start for the first time since league opener in finale at Hartford on March 2.   

 

Background: Led his Coolidge squad to a finish of 25-6 and titles in both the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association and D.C. State Athletic Association titles in 2013… Played major role in the Colts becoming the first district school ever to win a state title… Scored 29 points and added 15 rebounds to lead Coolidge back from 20-point halftime deficit in triumph over Body of Christ… The high-motor player averaged 13.7 points per game last winter and garnered 19 or more rebounds in three occasions… Earned DCIAA First Team honors and was tabbed to the Third Team All-Metro squad by The Washington Post...Became the first Retriever to compete in the prestigious Capital Classic All-Star game on April 28… Received a plethora of Division I offers, but selected UMBC because “I felt that UMBC was the best fit for me with their style of play, the new coaching staff, strong academics and a great location”… Interested in a career in criminal justice… Lists “likes” as crab cakes, playing the drums and lifting weights… The youngest of three children to Deborah and Daniel Kadiri… Born Jan. 26, 1995.
