Brian Baudinet joined Coach Ferry’s staff in August, 2022.

Baudinet brings a diverse coaching background to the Retrievers, most recently serving as the head boys’ basketball coach at Canterbury School in New Milford, Conn while also serving as the assistant director of admissions. In four seasons at Canterbury, he amassed a record of 87-19, including a 32-3 record in the Tri-State League. He earned back-to-back NEPSAC Class B Coach of the Year honors in 2018-19 and 2019-20. 

He led Canterbury to a NEPSAC Class B Championship in 2019-20 with a 25-2 record, the best in school history. That year, the team won 19 straight games to end the season. He led Canterbury to at least the semifinals of NEPSAC Class B Playoffs each season.

Prior to Canterbury, he spent three seasons under Ferry at Duquesne University, first as the director of player development before moving to assistant coach for the 2015-16 season. During his time in Pittsburgh, Baudinet was in charge of recruiting and player development where he helped recruit Darius Banks, who was a top 50 recruit in the nation according to ESPN. He also helped develop Isiaha Mike who earned A10 All-Rookie Team honors in 2016-17.

Baudinet briefly made a stop in the NBA G League with the Tulsa 66ers, an Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate, as an assistant coach/video analyst. In Tulsa, he oversaw player development working with Andre Roberson, Reggie Williams, Dominic McGuire, Mustafa Shakur, and Grant Jerrett, who all saw time in the NBA.

In Tulsa, he also assisted in all aspects of in-game strategy, defensive matchups, and opponent play calls and tendencies while formulating weekly and daily practice plans. 

Baudinet has also made collegiate coaching stops at American International College and Trinity College (Conn.). 

The Connecticut native was a four-year member of the UMass Amherst baseball team, where he was a two-time captain as a junior and senior. He earned Honorable Mention All-A10 honors during his senior season after setting an A10 record with four home runs in a game that year. Prior to UMass, he spent a season on the University of Rochester basketball team.

He graduated from UMass Amherst in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
