Accolades: Named to All-Tournament Team of the 2018 Bimini Jam.

Record-Book Material: His 87 free throws made in 2018-19 is the seventh-most by a UMBC sophomore. 

2019-20: Had a breakout year for the Retrievers during his junior season… Played in all 33 games making 30 starts… Was third in scoring on the team at 11.0 ppg with a team-best 6.7 rpg in 29.9 mpg… Shot 48.5 percent from the floor including 36.8 percent from three… Had 15 blocks and 31 steals with 362 points scored, second-most on the team… Had a career-high 23 points and 19 rebounds against Binghamton on Feb. 26… Ended the season with eight double-digit scoring performances in the last nine… Had a 21-point game against St. Mary’s (Md.) on Nov. 13 with a then career-best 15 rebounds.

2018-19: Recorded first career double-double with 19 points and 11 caroms vs. Shenandoah... Competed against his younger brother, Alex, in that contest... Featured on SC Top10 after a thunderous, contested dunk vs. Manhattan... Converted 17-of-25 free throw attempts in games vs. American and No. Kentucky... Made 10 (of 15) at NKU - first Retriever to net 10 since Jairus Lyles did so vs. Norse (10/13) a season ago.... Streak of at least one trey in each game ended at nine when he failed to connect on two attempts at Drexel... Also scored 19 points vs. Towson and Hood... Became first NCAA DI player to convert at least 6 field goals and 7 free throws without a miss since Purdue’s Caleb Swanigan (6/6 fg, 10/10 ft) did it in November of 2016... Scored career-best 22 points in that 21-minute effort vs. Centenary...  Suffered hand injury in contest vs. Binghamton, did not dress vs. UAlbany, but saw 11 minutes of action at Vermont... After playing 47 minutes in the three games, did not dress (hand injury) for the next three... Returned and recorded 8 pts./7 rebs. in 25 mins. vs. UML... Scored in double figures for the first time since league opener (13 vs. Maine) in regular season finale, scoing 13 (all in second half) vs. UNH... Averaged 12.1 ppg in 14 home games played, including 12.0 ppg in his last three contests... Averaged 9.1 ppg and 4.4 rpg and led UMBC with 87 free throws made.   

2017-18:  Saw three minutes of action in his Retriever debut at SMU... Knocked down 2-of-3 from behind the arc at No. 3 Arizona... Posted season bests in points (15), rebounds (7) and minutes played (23) and was a key player in UMBC’s Dec. 2 victory at The Citadel... Neared a double-double with 9 pts./9 rebs. vs. Centenary on Dec. 31... tied season-best by knocking down a trio of treys in that game... Earned his first collegiate start vs. Binghamton (Jan. 24) and scored 9 points in 16 minutes of playing time... Had missed eight consecutive treys until burying back-to-back shots to spark second-half rally in win over Albany on Feb. 18.    

Background: Selected to Maryland Basketball Coaches’ Association First Team (2A/1A), Capital Gazette First Team and Washington Post All-Metro squad (Honorable Mention) after his senior campaign (2015-16) at Southern… Also tabbed to All-State squad… Earned Second Team Capital Gazette honors as a junior in his first season of varsity basketball… Averaged 15 points and seven rebounds per game and shot 82 percent from the stripe and 39 percent from behind the arc… Also competed in track and field for the Bulldogs… A four-year honor roll student at Southern… Competed a post-grad season at the Kent School in 2016-17, where he averaged 14 points and seven caroms per game… Lists his best game as a 38-point, 8-rebound effort, when he knocked down ten treys in a national AAU Tournament contest in Orlando… Led that Baltimore Elite squad to a national runner-up finish… Considering a major in economics and a career as a financial analyst… Lists favorite pro team as the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers and favorite book is The Outsiders… Has two siblings, Alex and Briana… Son of Colleen and Brian Horvath.
