Biography

Accolades: Selected to the 2016-17 America East All-Rookie Team… Named the team’s Most Improved Player in his initial campaign... Named MVP of inaugural (2018) Bimini Jam, averaging 11.0 ppg and 7.3 rpg in UMBC tournament title run.   

Record Book Material: His 2016-16 total of 14 blocked shots ranked fifth amongst UMBC’s all-time freshmen... His 195 rebounds in 2017-18 was the fifth most by a Retriever sophomore and the 66 treys converted is now third-most on that list.

2019-20: Played in just four games with one start during the 2019-20 season after battling a shoulder injury during the year… Averaged 3.3 ppg and 4.8 rpg with seven steals… Made his season debut against Georgian Court on Nov. 16 scoring five points with nine rebounds and three steals… Made his lone start of the year against LSU on Nov. 19.

2018-19: Led UMBC at Marquette and was the lone Retriever in double figures with 11 points... Added a season-high 15 points and  posted career high 5 steals vs. Manhattan... Posted fifth career double-double in 2OT win over Aif Force with 10 points and 11 caroms... Scored 15 points at Drexel... Hit 100th trey of his career and buried a season-high four vs. Towson... Suffered leg injury in practice prior to contest vs. Hood and did not dress for that game... Saw action (15 mins.) at Penn State on Dec. 29... Dished out career-high 5 helpers vs. Centenary on Dec. 31... Scored season high 18 points at Hartford on Jan. 9...Made his first start since Nov. 30 (NKU) and recorded 12 pts./6 rebs. vs. Binghamton on Jan. 16... Scored 13 of 15 points in 15 second-half minutes in win over Vermont on Feb. 21... Scored only 8 points in final 3 regular season games, but scored 11 points and added 3 steals in America East QF win over UAlbany. 

2017-18: Set career marks for rebounds (12) and minutes played (38) and posted his first career double-double (23/12) in opener at SMU ... Scored 20 of career high 24 points in the second half at Colgate and recorded career high 10 field goals... Posted second double-double (12/12) vs. Shenadoah and third vs. Coppin State (14/career-high 13 caroms)... Scored in double figures in first 12 games... Produced his fourth double-double with 20 points and 10 caroms vs. UNH on Jan. 3... Hit all four attempts from behind the arc... Tied season high with 5 threes (of 9) at Vermont... Suffered a head injury in a minor car accident on Jan. 13 and did not dress vs. Hartford on Jan. 15... Suffered leg injury in practice on Jan. 22 and did not dress vs. Binghamton or Maine... Returned to play at Stony Brook and recorded 11 points in 17 minutes off the bench... Finished second in America East in 3-pt. percentage (42.8), seventh in rebounding (team high 5.9 per game) and tied for eighth in treys per game (2.0). Averaged 8.7 ppg and 6.0 rpg in the league championships and hit 5-of-10 from long range…Recorded his fifth double-double of the year and led all players with 10 rebounds (12 points) in NCAA Tournament victory over Virginia… Led the Retrievers with 17 blocked shots.

2016-17: Scored 11 points and added four caroms in his colleigiate debut vs. Hood... Led the Retrievers with eight caroms at The Shore on Nov. 13... Posted season highs in points (15) in win over Kennesaw and tied season best with eight rebounds... NAMED AMERICA EAST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK (Nov. 21)... Scored in double figures for third time and added seven caroms and season-best three rejections and two treys to 10-point effort at Va. Tech on Dec. 30... Averaged 5.3 rebounds per game from Dec. 10-Jan. 5… Tabbed to start his first collegiate game at Vermont on Jan. 13... Played huge role in win over UNH on Jan. 28, hitting season-best four treys and finishing with 14 points in 22 minutes... Scored all 10 points.in second half in Feb. 22 win over Stony Brook and recorded all 11 points after halftime in the regular season finale at UNH on Feb. 25...Sparked UMBC rally in second half in AE Playoff setback at UNH, scoring 9 pts. and knotting a season-high with four steals… Averaged 6.8 points and 4.0 rebounds in four CIT games, including 10 points in games vs. Fairfield and TAMCC. 

Background: Competed for St. Thomas (Conn.) More for the last two seasons… His Chancellors’ team fell to Brewster Academy in the national championship game… Previously competed at St. Thomas High School in his native Bridgeport… Once recorded 38 points, 16 rebounds, eight assists and six treys in a playoff-clinching game versus Trinity Catholic (2015)… Outstanding athlete who also lettered in football and track & field… Earned high academic honors during his final two years of high school… Considering a major in political science… Lists favorite movie as Space Jam… Enjoys performing community service.
