Biography

2023-24 (Freshman)

  • Led UMBC with four assists in just 10 minutes in his first career game at Louisville (11/6). Also added 4 boards.
  • Paced UMBC with two steals against Marist (11/11).
  • Scored a career high 12 points on 5-of-5 fga,  all in the second half versus Penn St-York. (11/14/23). Also hit his first career trey and threw down his first career dunk.
  • Registered 8 points, 3 reb and 3 assists against Loyola Maryland (11/19/23)
  • Scored a career and team-high 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting at Maryland (11/21/23)
  • Made his first career start against Lehigh and scored 6 points and added five boards in 24 minutes.
  • Grabbed a career-best 9 rebounds and dished a career-high 5 assists at Morgan State (12/6/23).
  • Handed out a career-high nine assists versus Towson (12/9/23).
  • Named the America East Rookie of the Week (12/11)
  • Scored 8 points in 10 minutes off the bench versus American as he drained 2-of-3 treys .
  • Recorded 7 points and 4 assists at Vermont.
  • Tied his season-high with 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting at UMass Lowell (1/13/24)
  • Followed that up with 15 points on 6-10 shooting versus Maine (1/18/24)
  • Came up with a season-high three steals versus New Hampshire (1/20/24)
  • Had 10 points, 4 boards, 4 assists, and three steals at UAlbany (2/3/24).
  • Produced a career-high 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Also tied a season-best with three treys.
  • Tied his career high with ten boards at Maine (2/22/22)


PRIOR TO UMBC

  • Valentine, a four-year player at Mount St. Joseph, helped direct the Gaels to a combined record of 80-14 over his final three seasons. 
  • He was named to the Baltimore Catholic First Team after the squad captured the 2023 BCL regular season and tournament titles. 
  • Valentine scored 18 points and added seven assists against St. Frances in the MIAA A Conference final, which was held at UMBC’s Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. 
  • Ace averaged 13.2 points, 5.5 assists and four rebounds to make the jump to the All-Metro First Team after earning Second Team honors as a junior.

  • Plans to major in Economics
  • Son of Kacy and Craig Valentine. Mother, Kacy, played basketball at Georgetown and Father, Craig played at Towson. Has a sister, Tori, who is on the track & field squad at Towson.
  • Favorite food is french toast.
  • Enjoys the music of Rylo Rodriguez.
  • Roots for the Milwaukee Bucks
