Biography

2015: Started and played in all but one game for the Retrievers this year... Finished the year hitting .297 with 62 hits, scoring 32 runs... He smacked 12 doubles, two triples and one home run for UMBC... Knocked in 36 RBI... Stole 13 bases, finishing the year with a .975 fielding percentage... Had a big game in the first America East contest of the year, going 2-4 with a home run and two runs scored... Went 4-5 in a 20-5 win against Mount St. Mary's in April... He hit three doubles, scoring two runs and driving in seven... Finished the season as the career leader in sacrifice hits with 30... Named to the America East All-Conference Second Team.

2014: Started and played in each of UMBC’s 46 games at second base… One of three Retrievers (Andrew Casali – CF; Kevin Lachance SS) to start every Retriever game at the same position… Hit .230 for the season, connecting for a career-high 40 hits, ten of which went for two bases… Belted his first career home run, a solo shot, against America East rival Hartford on May 3… Stolen ten bases in 11 attempts as the Retrievers recorded 62 stolen bases for the year, the second-highest total in school history… Laid down a team-best seven sacrifice bunts during the season while also driving in runs with two sacrifice flies… Drew a career-high 16 walks while striking out just 12 times… Recorded a career-best .971 fielding percentage… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

2013: Played in all but one of UMBC’s 48 games, making 46 starts for the Retrievers… Went 4-for-7 as UMBC’s swept the home-and-home series with Mount St. Mary’s on March 9-10… Collected two hits in three straight games from March 9-13 and again from Apr. 13-17… Had ten multi-hit games during the season… Second on the team with 116 assists… Helped the UMBC defense record a .961 fielding percentage.

2012: Played in 50 games, making 49 starts for UMBC in his first season in Baltimore... Went 3-for-4 with four runs scored, two RBI, and two stolen bases against local rival Coppin State on March 16... Set a season-high with an eight-game hit streak from Mar. 27-Apr. 6... Finished the year by getting a hit in each of his final three games... Recorded seven multi-hit games.

Background: In 2011 was named to the First Team All-Conference, First Team All-County, and First Team Carpenter Cup selection... Set a school record with three homeruns in one game... Second all-time in school history in steals and fielding percentage... In 2009, led his team to the South Jersey Championship and second place in the state tournament... Played against Mike Trout, now of the Los Angeles Angels.

Personal: Son of Vince and Elaine Corbi... Has one brother, Nicholas, and one sister, Christina... His grandfather was a professional boxer... Majoring in Media and Communications... Born July 28, 1993.
