Biography

2021: Had seven appearances with four starts for the Retrievers in 2021… Went 1-1 in 24.2 innings with 20 strikeouts and 17 earned runs… Made his season debut in the season opener going 0.2 innings of relief… Made his first start against UAlbany on April 3… Had three straight starts with at least four strikeouts in late April… Had a season-best six strikeouts in a win against Hartford on April 11.

2020: Made five appearances during the shortened 2020 season all out of the bullpen… Threw 5.1 innings giving up nine hits and five earned runs with seven strikeouts… Made his first collegiate appearance against Charlotte on February 22 going 1.0 innings with two strikeouts… Had a three-strikeout game against Towson in 2.0 innings on March 4.

2019: Did not play in 2019.

Background: Was an All-Delaware Honorable Mention in high school… Was named MVP during his senior season with multiple shutouts… Helped his team reach the state semifinals as a sophomore.

Personal: Son of Jim and Gail Wootten… Has one brother, Connor… Currently undecided on a major… Dad played baseball in high school… Chose UMBC over UNC Pembroke and North Carolina Central… Favorite pro team is the Philadelphia Phillies and favorite musical artist is Lil Baby.
