2016: Appeared in one game, making one start for the Retrievers in 2016… Threw 0.1 innings with a 27.00 ERA.

Background: Hower was a two-time Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Section selection, garnering honorable mention for his mound work during his junior season, and first team honors as a senior… His best performance came in a 13-1 win against West Geuaga at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex during his senior season, where he threw a complete game one-hitter, striking out ten batters… Helped lead the Moon Area Tigers to a third place finish in the WPIAL (Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League),  earning a spot in the state playoffs… Also lettered in basketball where he earned honorable mention and all-section honors as a junior.

Personal: Son of Lynda and Jon Hower… Has one younger sister, Abby… Chose UMBC over University of Buffalo and Canisius… Lists favorite pro team as the Pittsburgh Steelers and favorite movie as Moneyball… Currently undecided on a major.
