2008: Saw action in 18 games and made five starts… Took three shots on the season, including two on goal.

2007: Saw action in seven games on the season… Took two shots, both at Army… Named the team’s Most Improved Athlete at the Varsity Awards Banquet… Recognized on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2006: Saw action in six games for the Retrievers, starting one… Did not score a goal in three shots.

Background: Four-year varsity team member at Lake Highlands who captained the team as a junior and senior… Named the team’s Newcomer of the Year in 2002 and its Most Versatile Player in 2003… Also earned Defender of the Year from her team in 2004 and Best Work Ethic in 2004 and 2005… A Dallas Morning News Second-Team All-District midfielder in 2003 and a First-Team All-District defender in 2004 and 2005… Led her team to the regional quarterfinals in 2004 and 2005… A member of National Honor Society, Athletes Against Abusing Drugs, Democrats Club and the National Honor Roll… Also was a peer mediator and a Texas Scholar in high school, and received the “Who’s Who Among American High School Students” award… Plays the saxophone… Chose UMBC because of its academic reputation, size and soccer program… Born April 12, 1988… Daughter of Grace and David Opaleye… Has an older brother, Jeffrey… A psychology major and Spanish minor who hopes to become a child psychiatrist.
