Biography

AS A SENIOR (2020-21):

  • 2020-21 season was cut short due to COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Played in seven games for the Retrievers, starting in one.

  • Averaged 2.7 points and 4.4 rebounds on the year.

  • Shot 30 percent from the floor (8-26) and 75 percent from the free throw line (3-4).

  • Had a season-high eight points in the season opener against Morgan State (Nov. 25). 

  • Brought down a season-best seven rebounds in the win over UAlbany (Dec. 20).

AS A JUNIOR (2019-20): 

  • Played in all but one game this season, starting in four
  • Shot 41.9 percent from the floor and 61.7 percent from the free throw line, averaging 3.4 points per game
  • Led the Retrievers with 198 rebounds, averaging 7.3 per game - a mark that ranked fourth in the America East
  • Reset her career-highs against La Salle on Nov. 30, scoring 15 points (5-9, 5-7 FT) and grabbing 18 rebounds, the most by a Retriever since Brittany Crowell's 17 against Coppin State in 2012
  • Named to the Navy Classic All-Tournament Team
  • Opened the season with a double-double (12 pts, 13 rebs) against Gettysburg
  • Blocked a career-high three shots in a win against Hartford on Feb. 5; finished the season 10th in the conference in blocked shots (0.7 per game)

AS A SOPHOMORE (2018-19):

  • Played in just nine games during her sophomore season averaging 1.1 ppg and 1.3 rpg
  • She scored 10 points and collected 12 rebounds with one steal and two blocks in an injury-shortened season
  • Had a season-best six points and four rebounds against Eastern on Nov. 8.

AS A FRESHMAN (2017-18):

  • Appeared in 24 games during her first season with the Retrievers making four starts averaging 7.8 minutes per game
  • Scored 1.3 points per game and 1.5 rebounds per contest
  • Had a season-best six points in a loss to Albany on Feb.17
  • Had a three-game stretch of collecting five or more rebounds against Towson, St. Bonaventure and North Dakota State grabbing a season-best six rebounds in the last two games.

BACKGROUND:

  • Was named to the All-County First Team and Second Team All-Metro as a senior while also earning Co-Female Athlete of the Year honors by the Catonsville Times/Baltimore Sun
  • Helped the Comets win the 4A State Championship as a senior
  • Averaged 9.9 ppg and a team-high 8.4 rpg as a junior
  • Helped lead Comets to the MPSSAA Class 4A Quarterfinal
  • Served as a team captain her senior year
  • First Team All-County and All-Division Award honoree
  • Earned the Barry Lanman Honor Award
  • Recipient of the Janice Leishear Athletic Award
  • Member of the Maryland Belles AAU tean
  • Competed in DMVelite's Governor's Challenge
  • Also a member of the varsity soccer team, where she earned All-Division honors and was selected to the Baltimore County Senior All-Star game
  • Also played varsity lacrosse

PERSONAL:

  • Daughter of Gail and Joe Gast
  • Has an older sistser, Renee who played soccer at Towson
  • Her father Joe was a pitcher in the New York Yankees and Baltimore Orioles organizations
  • Majoring in psychology
  • Favorite pro team is the Baltimore Orioles and favorite musical artist are the Chainsmokers
