Biography

2017: Appeared in 16 games, making five starts for the Retrievers in 2017... Finished the year with a 3-4 record and one save with a 5.95 ERA... Threw 42.1 innings with 29 strikeouts... Earned the win in an 8-4 victory over UNC Asheville by throwing 5.1 innings, while allowing only two runs and striking out three... Threw three innings of relief in a 10-2 loss to Albany in April... Had his best outing in a 5-2 win over UMass Lowell in April... In the game, he threw three shutout innings of relief, only giving up one hit and striking out a season-high five batters.

2016: Did not play due to injury. 

2015: Appeared in nine games, making nine starts before an injury shortened his season... He threw 46.2 innings of work, going 2-4 with a 4.05 ERA... Had one complete game, giving up 51 hits and 21 earned runs with 30 strikeouts on the year... Had his best performance in a 6-1 complete game win against Hartford on March 15... In that contest, he gave up five hits and one unearned run with five strikeouts... Had a pair of back to back seven inning performances to end the year... Named to America East Honor Roll.

2014: Started 11 games for UMBC in his first season with the team… Went 1-3 with a 3.34 earned run average (ERA) while working a staff-high 62.0 innings… Posted a 1-1 record in seven road starts with a 2.20 ERA… Struck out 28 batters while issuing just nine walks… Held opponents to a .252 batting average… Worked 7.0 innings, holding weekend-host Coastal Carolina to one run on four hits on March 9 at the Chanticleer Classic, but ultimately received a no-decision… Tossed at least 6.0 innings in four of his first five starts for the Retrievers… Earned his first career victory with the program on April 13 after shutting out Albany in New York for six innings and scattering seven hits… Pitched 9.0 innings on the final day of the season at Maine as UMBC outlasted the host Black Bears, 2-1, in 12 innings… Surrendered just one unearned run while allowing five hits and fanning five batters.

2013: Sat out due to NCAA transfer policy… Recognized on the America East Honor Roll.

Background: Made four appearances, including one start, during his freshman year at the University of Tennessee... Recorded three strikeouts while walking just two batters for the Volunteers... A four-year letter winner at Fairfax High... Earned All-District, All-Region, and All-Metro honors while playing for the Rebels... Helped lead Fairfax to the 2011 district tournament as a senior... As a junior he went 6-2 with a 1.70 ERA, 92 strikeouts, and 18 walks... Threw a two-hit shutout in the 2012 Liberty District Tournament to help Fairfax qualify for the Northern Region tournament... Also a four-year letter winner in wrestling, winning the Liberty District Championship as well as the Northern Region Championship.

Has three brothers - Samuel, Timothy, and Daniel - and three sisters - Sarah, Abigail, and Esther...Father played football at Washington University in St. Louis... Graduated In 2016 with  B.S. in Information Systems...Currently working on an M.P.S. in Cybersecurity...Born Sept. 1, 1992.
