Biography

2012: Saw action in a total of 43 games, starting 36 of them for the Retrievers... Hit a home run in his first at-bat of the season against Georgetown on Feb. 24 at the Wake Forest Invitational... Hit four round-trippers on the season... Registered a hit in seven straight games from May 1-12, a career-best... Recorded seven multi-games including two 3-hit games (vs. Buffalo, Mar. 14; at Hartford, May 5).

  

Background: Played junior college ball at Chesapeake... Led Sherwood to the Maryland 4A State Championship in 2008… Named to the All-Gazette First Team in 2008… Also voted to the Brooks Robinson All-Star Team in 2008… Earned All-State honors in 2008 and was voted to Team Maryland in 2007 and 2008… Also played basketball at Sherwood and helped lead the Warriors to the 2007 Maryland 4A State Championship.

 

Personal: Son of Stephen and Bonnie Gilchrist… Has two older brothers, Matt and Tim... Majoring in economics… Born Aug. 14, 1990.
