Biography

2010: Named to the America East All-Academic Team… Made 16 appearances, including four starts… Struck out 24 batters in 45 innings of work… Struck out a season-high five batters against Towson on March 23… Earned a three-inning save against North Dakota State on March 18… Also saw action at second base in five games, going 3-for-10… Best game at the plate was a 2-for-3 against Stony Brook on May 9… Named to the America East Honor Roll.

 

2009: Appeared in 12 games, starting 10… Led the Retrievers in innings pitched with 65.1 and strikeouts with 39… Struck out a season-high seven batters in a win over Long Island on March 20… Allowed just two earned runs in 6 and 1/3 innings pitched in a win over Hartford on April 25… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

 

2008: Made 20 appearances for the Retrievers including three starts… Recorded 41 strikeouts on the season and a 6.96 strikeouts per game average which ranked ninth in the America East… Finished fourth in the conference with 2.04 walks allowed per game... Pitched 6.2 innings in a series against Hartford and only allowed one run while striking out three and picking up a save.

 

2007: Did not play... Earned a redshirt for the season.

 

Background:  Lettered at River Hill High, helping his team to the regional finals and two playoff wins during his junior year and one playoff win his senior year… Earned Team MVP honors his senior year… Tied his school record for strikeouts with 15 against Oakland Mill while also pitching a two-hit shutout… Named to the Baltimore Sun Second-Team All-County and Washington Post All-County Honorable Mention during his junior year as well as the Baltimore Sun, Washington Post, and Howard County Times First-Team All-County, and Washington Post All-Metro Honorable Mention during his senior year… Led Howard County in innings pitched, wins, hits, and was second in batting average and doubles with a 2.64 ERA in 69 innings, 7-4 record, 40 hits, a .541 average and eight doubles… Also lettered in basketball, leading his team in scoring in two playoff games, including making five 3-pointers in a playoff win over Severna Park… Also won the Coaches’ Award for basketball and received the River Hill High School Unsung Hero Award… Major is currently undecided… Youngest child of Dr. Douglas and Elaine Drewyer… Has a brother, Doug and sister, Danielle… Born on July 24, 1988.
