Kylee Altland Joins Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

BALTIMORE – UMBC head women's soccer coach Rick Stainton announced that Kylee Altland has joined the Retrievers' program as an Assistant Coach.

"Kylee brings a tremendous work ethic, strong recruiting instincts, and a genuine passion for developing student-athletes," Stainton said. "Her experience building competitive environments and supporting all aspects of a program will make an immediate impact on our team, and we're excited to welcome her to our staff."

Altland arrives in Baltimore after serving as an assistant coach at McDaniel College for the past two seasons. In her first season in 2024, she was a member of the Centennial Conference Coaching Staff of the Year as the Green Terror finished second in the conference standings en route to its 10th appearance in the conference tournament and ninth-straight since 2015. The team finished 12-5-3 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship while boasting an All-American, four all-region, and six all-conference selections. The squad also produced a Scholar All-American and four Region V All-Region selections during her tenure.

Altland arrived at Westminster after serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at her alma mater, Penn State Harrisburg. A former standout for the Nittany Lions, she was a three-time all-conference selection after transferring from Division II Fairmont State. She finished her career with 47 points, including 17 goals and 13 assists, while netting five game-winning goals.

Altland was named to the United East Volt Division First Team in 2023 after matching the single-season program record for assists with nine. She also added one goal, scoring in a 2-2 tie at Franklin & Marshall, which was receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Poll. She was named to the United Soccer Coaches Region IV Third Team in 2022 after totaling 18 points with eight goals and two assists. She also earned United East First Team honors.

In 2021, Altland led the team with 18 points during her first season with the Nittany Lions, totaling eight goals and two assists. She was named to the United East Second Team before scoring a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the United East title game, to earn tournament MVP honors and lead Penn State Harrisburg to its first conference championship since 2009. The team became the first in program history to advance to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.

Off the field, Altland was a three-time United East and a 2020 North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete. She earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators as a senior and was named the Penn State Harrisburg Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 2022. She was also a member of the school's Student-Athlete Leadership Council and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Altland, a native of Millersburg, Pa., received her Bachelor of Science in marketing with a minor in communications from Penn State Harrisburg in December 2022, followed by her master's in business administration in December 2023.
