PHILADELPHIA - The UMBC outdoor track & field team finished up day three of the Penn Relays with six top-six finishes, including a victory on Saturday.
The men's 4x100 relay team of
Fred-Morgan Iheanacho,
Alim Raji,
Martin Ojulu, and
Karell Clement was victorious, winning the college division championship with a time of 40.89. The mark is the eighth-fastest since 2010 for UMBC.
The women's 4x800 relay team finished just shy of the UMBC program record, placing fifth with a time of 8:55.81, just over a second slower than the program record time of 8:54.58.
Lilly Norcross,
Katelyn Deal,
Lily Strelecki, and
Katie Schwaner competed in the event for UMBC.
The men's 4x400 also took home a fifth-place finish as
Kemarley Hibbert,
Justin Febles,
Jacob Martin, and
Rhema Nkwocha combined for a time of 3:17.12.
The men's 4x800 relay placed 12th with a time of 7:44.50.
Sofiane Compaorg, Martin,
Joey Ensor, and
Justin Banks ran for the Retrievers.
In individual events,
Iosif Papa took the silver medal in the discus, finishing with a 58.00 meter throw.
Ava Roberts finished sixth in the shot put (15.84m) and 13th in the discus (45.05m).
Enazajah Young took sixth in the 100 hurdles championship after qualifying fifth yesterday. She clocked a time of 13.86 seconds.
