BOSTON - For the second time this outdoor season, UMBC senior Iosif Papa was named the America East's Field Athlete of the Week. Papa competed this past weekend at the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va. 

Competing against a strong Division I field, Papa took third place with a 58.98-meter throw, finishing behind just one collegiate competitor, with an unattached athlete winning the event. 

Papa currently ranks 13th in Division I in the discus thanks to his school record-breaking 59.86-meter throw at the UCF Black & Gold Challenge back in March. 

The Cyprus native will. compete in the Championship Men's Discus this week at the prestigious Penn Relays.
