BOSTON - For the third time this year and first in his outdoor track & field career, UMBC's
Ojigwe Olua was named America East Rookie of the Week.
The Catonsville native jumped into second all-time on UMBC's outdoor performance list in the 110 hurdles on Saturday, competing at the Dan Stimson Memorial Invitational hosted by William & Mary.
Olua clocked a time of 14.17, winning the event and shooting up the record books. Olua's time is the fastest in the America East so far this outdoor season and ranks 57th nationally.
UMBC returns to action this weekend at the Dalton Ebanks Invitational hosted by George Mason.
