The UMBC Softball team will play for the first time in two weeks when it makes the short trip to Maryland for the Terrapin Invite this weekend. The Retrievers will begin play on Friday night at 5:30 against Providence, and the full weekend schedule is below.

After a solid opening weekend of the season in the circle, UMBC Softball junior
Maggie Frisvold was named the America East Pitcher of the Week on February 17.
Frisvold went 1-1 with 17 strikeouts and just three earned runs allowed in 13 innings. She only walked four and pitched two complete games, including having a carer-high 11 strikeouts in a complete game victory over St.Bonaventure.
Last time out, UMBC Softball dropped both games to wrap up the Wofford Invitational.
The Retrievers dropped the first game against UNCW, 8-0 in 5 innings.
Frisvold broke the no hitter for the Seahawks pitcher in the fifth inning with a single up the middle. Jolie Torrens followed up with a double down the right field line, but the Retrievers couldn't get Frisvold home.
Kenzie Nicholson and Amya Lundy were the only other Retrievers to reach base with a HBP in the first inning and a Seahawks error in the fourth inning.
Against Wofford, Frisvold got the start in the circle for the Retrievers, striking out six batters, but UMBC dropped the final game, 3-1.
