UMBC DMR team celebrates its gold

Men's Track and Field

Men's DMR Rallies for Gold on Friday at America East Indoor Championships

BOSTON – Grayson Ruffner rallied in the final 400m to give the Distance Medley Relay team the gold medal the UMBC Men's Indoor Track & Field team had opened day one of the America East Championships on Friday. 

Ruffner was joined by Justin Banks, Fred-Morgan Iheanacho and Ryan Hartranft to earn gold in a time of 9:55.88

Ojigwe Olua was the top qualifier in the 60 hurdles and will be joined in the final by Cameron Hayes. Jacob Martin earned the top qualifying spot in the 500 and will be joined by Justin Febles, while Rhema Nkwocha qualified for the 400 dash final. 

Alim Raji and David Adisa had strong runs to qualify for Saturday's 60m dash final, with Raji also qualifying for the 200 dash final 

Toren Burr had a career-best throw of 18.41 to finish in seventh in the weight throw.

The final day of the America East Championships begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday
