Spartanburg, S.C. – The UMBC Softball team dropped both games on Saturday to wrap up the Wofford Invitational.
The Retrievers dropped the first game against UNCW, 8-0 in 5 innings.
Maggie Frisvold broke the no hitter for the Seahawks pitcher in the fifth inning with a single up the middle. Jolie Torrens followed up with a double down the right field line, but the Retrievers couldn't get Frisvold home.
Kenzie Nicholson and Amya Lundy were the only other Retrievers to reach base with a HBP in the first inning and a Seahawks error in the fourth inning.
UMBC vs. Wofford
Maggie Frisvold got the start in the circle for the Retrievers, striking out six batters, but UMBC dropped the final game, 3-1.
Amaya Carroll singled through the left side to score
Kenzie Nicholson in the third inning.
Abbie Frisvold went 2-3 with a stolen base, while
Maggie Frisvold also had a hit for the Retrievers.
St. Bonaventure is canceled for Sunday due to incoming weather.
