Men's Track and Field

Banks and 4x4 Relay Lead Men's Track & Field on Saturday

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Justin Banks continued his impressive indoor campaign and the 4x4 relay team had another strong showing as the UMBC Men's Track & Field team concluded the Dr. Sander Scorcher on Saturday in New York City.

Banks finished 10th in the 1 Mile (Invitational) in 4:05.51, the best time in the America East so far this season by nearly three seconds. The 4x4 (Invitational) relay team of Rhema Nkwocha, Justin Febles, Kemarley Hibbert and Jacob Martin won the silver in a time of 3:13.47.

Alim Raji took 10th in th 200m (Invitational) in a time of 23.06, while Simon Essono used a time of 22.45 to take sixth in the Open portion of the event. 

Xavier Gooden was UMBC's top finisher in the shot put with a throw of 13.83m.

The Retrievers retrun to action at the Penn State National next weekend.
