Unbeaten Men's Soccer Returns Home on Friday Night to Face Old Dominion

  • Graduate student Andres Javitt scored his first goal for UMBC, resulting in a 1-1 draw against William & Mary on Saturday afternoon at Martin Family Stadium.
  • Javitt struck a powerful free kick from 20 yards out in the 61st minute, sending the ball into the upper left corner of the net and beating William & Mary goalkeeper Ryan Eapen.
  • The Tribe had taken a 1-0 lead with just 1:24 remaining in the first half, thanks to forward Sam Delgado. 
  • In the match, UMBC outshot William & Mary 12-7 and earned three corner kicks. Emigdio Tormo Lopez made two saves, while Eapen recorded four saves for the Tribe.
  • The Retrievers are looking to match their 2022 start when they went 5-0-1 to open that campaign and finished 10-6-2 overall.
  • The Dawgs are 3-0 at Retriever Soccer Park this season.
  • Tormo Lopez is third in the league with a .600 goals against average and owns a .857 saves percentage, which is also third in the conference.
  • Brady Geho is third in the league in points (7) with three goals and an assist.
  • Matteo Samori also ranks among the top 10 with five points (two goals, assist). Samori is also tied for the league lead with two game-winning goals.
  • UMBC is ranked third in the United Soccer Coaches Northeast Region after the first vote of the season.
 
About Old Dominion
  • The Monarchs are 0-1-2 away from home this season.
