UMBC Alum Luke O'Neill Joins Volleyball Coaching Staff

BALTIMORE -- UMBC Alum Luke O'Neill has returned to his alma mater to join the UMBC coaching staff, head coach Kasey Crider announced on Tuesday.

"We're thrilled to invite Luke back to the program after a year away playing NCAA volleyball and working on his master's degree," said Crider. "His experience as a practice player and recent high level playing resume will allow him to hit the ground running."

O'Neill, a Silver Spring native, graduated from UMBC in 2024 with an individualized study degree focused in sports medicine and nutrition. He was a member, and vice president of, the men's club team, and was also a practice player for the UMBC Volleyball team that he now joins the staff of.

After graduation, he played Division 1 Men's Volleyball at Catawba in Spring 2025 for coach Bill Ferguson, in their inaugural season.
