Lowell, Mass. -- Having already clinched the number two seed and a bye in the upcoming America East tournament, the UMBC softball team dropped a 5-0 rain-shortened decision at UMass Lowell in the regular season finale on Saturday afternoon.
The game had a lightning delay in the top of the sixth and resumed for two batters a half hour later before the rain came down and the game was called.Â
Parker Kraus had UMBC's only hit and stole second.
Jerzie Nutile walked and reached via a hit-by-pitch. The America East Tournament will begin for UMBC on Thursday in Binghamton
