The UMBC Softball team will play its first mid-week contests of the season as it travels to Towson on Tuesday at 2 p.m., and then hosts George Mason on Wednesday 6 p.m.
The Retrievers once again rallied from an early hole, fighting back from a 3-0 first inning deficit, but visiting Fairleigh Dickinson broke a fifth inning tie to win 5-4.
Jerzie Nutile went 3-for-4 with a homer andÂ
Parker Kraus had her first career RBI in the contest. Hailey Luginbill andÂ
Amya Lundy also drove in runs for UMBC, while Amaya Caroll also had a hit.
Maggie Frisvold was brilliant in relief, going 4.2 innings giving up just the one run on a pair of soft singles.
UMBC will host another tournament this upcoming weekend.Â
