Riggs homered twice, including a grand slam in an 11-8 game 1 loss, before Luginbill hit a pair of homers in a come-from-behind 7-6 win in the night cap.
Mikayla Bryant hit her first career homer in game two.Â

Phoebe Florian singled and scored on Luginbill's first homer of the day in the bottom half of the inning to make it 4-2.
The Purple Eagles added two more in the top of the second to make it 6-2, but Bryant's solo homer halved the lead again in the bottom of the second.

In the bottom of the third, Florian walked to leadoff the inning, stole second and scored on Luginbill's two run homer to cut the deficit to 6-5. Niagara made a pitching change, but Matter and Riggs each drew four pitch walks to force another pitching change.
A wild pitch moved both runners up and
Erin Behel and
Meghan Shirey hit back-to-back RBI singles up the middle to give UMBC a 7-6 lead it would retain the rest of the way.
Parker Kraus picked up her first career hit later in the contest.
In game one, Luginbill hit a two-out double in the bottom of the first and would then score on a Matter RBI single to make it 1-0. Niagara would respond in the top of the second to go up 2-1, and would eventually lead 5-1 in the fourth when Riggs hit a solo homer to lead off the inning.
It was 11-2 in the seventh when Luginbill and Matter drew back-to-back bases loaded walks to make it 11-4, before Riggs blasted a grand slam.
