Day 2 Results
Lewisburg, Pa. -- The UMBC Swimming & Diving team continued its strong showing at Day 2 of the Bucknell Invitational.
"We had lots of personal bests and college-best performances today," said head coach
Matt Donovan. "The key is that the team as a whole is developing depth. Â Having this many night swims and a meet this strong is extremely valuable in getting us ready for the America East Championships."
The best finishes of the day belonged to a pair of Men's relay teams as the 200 medley relay team of
Quinn Marchionini,
Sean Neils,
Stefano Perez and
Braden Weise took second in 1:26.96, while the 800 free relay team of Weise,
Matthew So,
Tyler Kay and
Andrew McEachern cut over eight seconds off their season-best time to place third in 6:33.93.
For the women,
Alice Marini took three seconds off her prelim time for a seventh place finish (4:22.96) in a loaded A finals in the 400 IM.
Erma Duratovic qualified for the A final in the 100 fly and was out-touched at the wall (55.71) and missed the podium by .65.
Perez placed third in the 100 fly in a time of 47.74, while Marchionini just missed out on third in the 100 back, finishing in a time of 48.86.
The final day of the Bucknell Invitational begins at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
