Danilovitz & Banks Named to America East Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team

Boston, Mass. – UMBC sophomores Daniel Danilovitz and Justin Banks were named to the America East Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team on Thursday.
 
Danilovitz has an impressive 4.00 GPA in Biological Sciences and is pursuing a minor in Psychology. He had a remarkable season, earning First Team All-Conference honors by finishing fifth overall at the 2025 America East Championships in October. He recorded the third-best 8K time in program history at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in New Hampshire, completing the race in 24:31.09. Additionally, he placed 45th at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Lehigh, achieving the second-best 10K time in program history with a finish of 30:58.3. The Moosic, Pennsylvania native also secured seventh place at the IC4A Championships, earning All-East recognition. He was honored as the America East Performer of the Week twice for winning the individual title at the Navy Cantello Invitational and the Mount St. Mary's 5K Dual meet.
 
Banks currently holds a 3.71 GPA in Psychology. The native of Frederick, Maryland earned Second Team America East All-Conference honors this past season after finishing 14th overall at the America East Championships with a time of 24:56.81. He also competed at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals, where he placed 98th with a time of 31:49.5, and at the IC4A Championships, finishing in 33rd place with a time of 25:14.8. Additionally, Banks achieved Top 10 finishes at both the Navy Cantello Invitational and the Mount St. Mary's 5K Dual meet.
 
UMBC finished third at the 2025 America East Conference Championships, marking the Retrievers' first team trophy at the event since they earned a bronze in 2014.
