Hannah Howard had a career-best six aces to lead the UMBC Volleyball team to a four set win over host Howard (25-18, 25-17, 19-25, 25-18) on Wednesday night.
Howard's six aces were the most in a single match by a Retriever since
Mia Bilusic tallied six against Binghamton on 10/9/23. She also added five assists and nine digs in the victory.
UMBC was led by 14 kill and five block outings from both
Claudia Llamas and
Jalynn Brown, with Brown hitting .371 on only one error.
Hannah Dobbs recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 12 digs, while both
Izzy Ostvig and
Serin Maden recorded 21 assists.
Laura Fuehrer continued to dominate the middle on defense, picking up a match-high seven blocks and adding six kills and four digs.
Helen Frankovich tallied five blocks and three kills, while Ostvig added four kills, six digs and three blocks.
The Retrievers travel to New Hampshire on Sunday for a 1 p.m. match.
