Women's Soccer Travels to America East Defending Champion Maine on Sunday Afternoon

UMBC is coming off a big, senior day win against conference rival Bryant to move up to third-place in the current standings.
The Retrievers reached six wins and two conference victories for the first time since 2016.
UMBC has not won seven contests in a season since 2014, when they finished 12-4-3 and reached the America East Semifinals.
Junior Payton Schenning opened the scoring for the Retrievers in the 6th minute, giving UMBC a 1-0 lead. Junior Reagan Casper converted a corner kick in the 36th minute to put the Retrievers ahead 2-0, her first career tally.

Redshirt freshman Zoe Brossman was named the America East Rookie of the Week after garnering an assist on Sunday.

Schenning is 2nd in the conference in shots per game (3.31 pg.) and shots on goal (1.62 pg.). She's also tied for 9th in goals scored (3).
Brossman is tied for 9th in the league with three tallies and is 17th in points (.53 per game).
UMBC's 14 points and five goals in the win against Iona are tied for the most on the circuit this season in both categories.

The defending America East champions are 0-4-1 at home this season after going 6-0-2 last year.
The Black Bears tied UMass Lowell, 2-2, on Thursday evening in Lowell, Ma. Jordane Pinette scored in the 84th minute to tie the game.
