Men's Basketball Reveals Entire 2024-25 Schedule

Retrievers to play eight of their first nine games at the Peake

BALTIMORE—UMBC head men's basketball coach Jim Ferry has revealed the Retrievers'  schedule for the upcoming 2024-25 campaign. Fans will have a tremendous opportunity to see the Dawgs up close and in person when the season starts in November. Eight of the Retrievers' first nine games will be contested at the Chesapeake Employers Arena during the season's opening month, and UMBC will play 17 games on their home floor during the upcoming season. UMBC will also play five games against teams from the Maryland/Washington D.C. area.

The Retrievers will welcome Penn State-York to Baltimore for the third consecutive year as the season tips off on Monday, November 4.  UMBC will then travel to Happy Valley, Pennsylvania, to take on the Penn State Nittany Lions on Friday, November 8.

UMBC will host seven consecutive games at the Peake to finish out November. Valley Forge travels to Baltimore for the first time since the 2019 season on Monday, November 11. The Dawgs will then host three teams they faced on the road last season. Local rival Coppin State will visit on Thursday, November 14, and the week will conclude with a matchup against Saint Peters on Saturday, November 16. Hampton comes to Charm City on Tuesday, November 19, to complete the stretch.

The Retrievers will host a Multi-Team Event (MTE) on campus for the second straight season. UMBC will take on Boston University on Saturday, November 23, and will host Howard on Monday, November 25. for Midday Madness. Boston University and Howard will square off against each other on Sunday, November 24.

The month concludes against another local rival, Morgan State, on Wednesday, November 27.

The Dawgs will travel for five of their six contests in December. However, the first two trips will be short, with tilts against Georgetown (Capital One Arena) on Monday, December 2, and beltway rival Towson on Saturday, December 7. 

UMBC returns home to host Cairn on Tuesday. December 10 before an eight-day break for finals.

The schedule resumes with a trip down south for UMBC's first-ever meeting against Georgia Tech on Wednesday, December 18. The squad then heads to upstate New York for a meeting with Marist on Saturday, December 21.

After the Christmas break, the Retrievers will complete the non-conference portion of the schedule back in Washington, D.C., traveling to America on Sunday, December 29.

The Retrievers will open the America East slate on the road as they travel to Binghamton on Saturday, January 4.

Other conference highlights include the Retrievers' first AE contest at the Peake against New Hampshire on Thursday, January 16. and a three-game home stand to end the regular season versus NJIT (Saturday, February 22), UAlbany (Thursday, February 27), and Vermont (Saturday, March 1).

The America East Conference Tournament will begin on March 8. on the campus of the higher seeds.
