UMBC fell by a score of 3-0 against the Bucknell Bison on Thursday evening at Emmit Field. The Retrievers fell to 0-2 on the young season.
Bucknell outshot UMBC 15-2 in the first half, but the Retrievers remained in the contest as they trailed just 1-0 at the break. But the hosts added insurance markers on strikes from outside the box in the second half.
Sophomore Payton Schenning fired a pair of shots for UMBC and Abbey Cowles made five saves in goal.

About Iona

Iona played Wagner College to a scoreless draw on Thursday night at Hameline Field on Staten Island, New York. It was a strong defensive battle between the Gaels and Seahawks with both teams getting late chances on goal denied, keeping the game scoreless.
Sophomore Savannah Rogers made one save in the first half and freshman Kayla Kalbaugh registered two saves in the second half for the second straight combined shutout for the Gaels. First-year forward Dolene Smith led the Gaels with a game-high two shot attempts on goal.
Iona has scored just one goal in three contests this season. Defensively, the Gaels have allowed just a pair of goals.

Natasha Munro and Cheyenne Payne each scored in the second half as the Retrievers closed out non-conference play with a 2-0 victory over visiting Iona at Retriever Soccer Park
Sara Gavagan made three saves as she picked up a shutout in her first career start.
UMBC held a 20-4 shot advantage, 13-3 edge in shots on goal, and had six corners to Iona's one.
