BOSTON -- Freshman Ella Squaires earned a spot on both the America East First Team All-Conference and All-Rokkie Teams, to lead five members of the UMBC Softball team who were honored, as announced by the Conference, on Tuesday afternoon. Kya Matter and Ashley Della Guardia each earned Second Team nods, while Maggie Frisvold and Amya Lundy joined Squaires on the All-Rookie Team.

Squaires led the America East with a .391 batting average, and was second in hits (52), on-base percentage (.467) and stolen bases (18). Matter was second in strikeouts (142) and fourth in ERA (2.61), while Della Guardia finished near the top of the Conference in most offensive categories as well.

The Retrievers are the fourth seed in the America East Tournament hosted by Maine. UMBC will face fifth-seeded UMass Lowell on Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Last time out, the Dawgs rallied, but three late runs by Bryant gave the hosts a 7-4 victory in the regular season finale.

Jerzie Nutile hit a two run homer to put UMBC up 2-0 in the second, but Bryant responded with four unearned runs in the bottom of the inning thanks to a pair of Retriever errors.

Della Guardia had an RBI single in the fourth, and Amaya Carroll added a sacrifice fly in the fourth to tie it. Bryant used a pair of bunts and a homer to put up three in the fifth to re-take the lead, and UMBC could not get any closer.

Nutile pitched a scoreless final 1.1 innings of relief.

L. White added a run and RBI to her stat line in the series finale. Junior Trinadey Santiago (Cheshire, Conn.) also recorded a home run in the contest, while graduate student Brenna Davenport (Merrimack, N.H.) added a single to match the longest hit streak in UMass Lowell softball program history. Senior Morgan Fisher (Glassboro, N.J.) and sophomore Katelyn Fitzgerald (Ambler, Pa.) both collected a hit on the afternoon.

Junior Jen Slanovec (Bethlehem, Pa.) started game one in the circle before freshman Olivia DeCitise (Troy, N.Y.) came in for relief. She went 2.2 innings pitched with two strikeouts before Slanovec returned to the circle to close the game.
