BOSTON -- After an impressive weekend at the plate, UMBC Softball's Ashley Della Guardia was named the America East Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The senior slashed .500/.938/1.467 over five games with two homers, six RBI and five runs scored. She had three multi-hit games and collected at least one RBI in all five contests. The senior had the go-ahead RBI hit in both victories over Wisconsin (6th inning RBI single to go up 4-3 in game one, 3rd inning 2-RBI double to go up 5-3 in game two).

The Retrievers will play a single game against Hofstra on Tuesday at 1 p.m., followed by a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Coppin State on Wednesday.
