Squaires Named America East Rookie of the Week

BOSTON -- After a tremendous first day of her career, UMBC Softball freshman Ella Squaires has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the Conference announced on Tuesday morning.

Out of the leadoff spot, Squaires went 6-for-8, including a 4-4 in game two, with four doubles and three runs scored in the season-opening doubleheader against Saint Peter's. She also drew two walks, one intentional, and stole two bases.

The Retrievers head to UNCW this weekend for a five-game tournament.
