Boston, MA - FR guard Franck Emmou has been selected as the America East Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday morning.  The honor is Emmou's second of the season as he also earned the award on February 5.
 
The Mansfield, Texas native scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high six rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench in UMBC's road win at Binghamton on February 15. Emmou followed that up with six points, three assists, and three rebounds in the triumph versus UAlbany this past Saturday.
 
The Mansfield Summit product has become an integral player off the bench in his initial season in Baltimore, averaging 7.5 points in 13.6 minutes per game. During conference play, Emmou has netted 8.6 points on 53 percent shooting. In addition, he's buried 60 percent (15-for-25) of his long-range attempts and is 18-for-23 (78 percent) from the charity stripe.
 
UMBC will travel to Maine and New Hampshire this week.
