The UMBC Women's Basketball team hits the road for the final time in the regular season when it travels to first place UAlbany for a Saturday night matchup. Tip-off on ESPN+ is scheduled for 7 p.m.
The Retrievers sit one game out of fourth place and the right to host the final home quarterfinal in the America East playoffs.
Last time out, UMBC trimmed a 13-point fourth quarter deficit down to six with just two minutes remaining, but visiting Binghamton was able to hold off the rally and win, 52-44, on Thursday night at The Peake.Â
Jaden Walker finished with 13 points and six rebounds to lead the Retrievers.
Scouting UAlbany:
- Visitng UAlbany edged host NJIT, 38-36, in a defensive battle on Thursday night in Newark.
- Senior Kayla Cooper led the Great Danes with 19 points, 17 of which were scored in the second half, 11 rebounds, and three steals.
- Graduate student Sarah Karpell followed with eight points and a team-high three assists.
- Freshman Deja Evans led the team with four blocks.
- As a team, the Great Danes out-stole the Highlanders, 11-6.

- UAlbany leads the all-time series, 29-14, and has won five straight matchups
- Two weeks ago at The Peake, Anna Blount hit a career-high three three-pointers, en route to 17 points, but the UMBC Women's Basketball team fell to league-leading UAlbany, 69-55.
- Jaliena Sanchez had 12 points and Laura Lacambra added 10 for the Retrievers.
