The UMBC Womne's Basketball returns to The Peake for the first time in 11 days when it hosts local rival Morgan State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Last time out,Â
Jordon Lewis andÂ
Jaliena Sanchez each scored 13 points, but a furious rally fell short as UMBC fell at Patriot League preseason favorite Loyola Maryland, 54-46, on Sunday night.Â
The Retrievers cut a 15 point deficit down to two, and it was within three midway through the fourth, but the Greyhounds held on.
The game was a homecoming for UMBC head coachÂ
Candice Hill, a Loyola alum, who was honored before the game.
Morgan State is 3-2 on the season, but its lone D1 win came against Towson on Thursday.Â
Jael Butler andÂ
Ja'la Bannerman each scored a game-high 13 points andÂ
Michaela Bogans added 10, as the host Lady Bears won 64-63 after Towson missed a layup at the buzzer.
Both teams shot 50 percent from the line as Morgan State connected on 12-of-24 from the charity stripe and Towson shot 15-of-30 at the line.
If fans can't make the game, they can tune in on ESPN+ or follow along with live stats or at @UMBCwbb on X.
