Davanzo, Gutshall and Mills Sweep America East Weekly Awards

BOSTON -- The UMBC Women's Swimming & Diving team capped a 2-0 weekend by sweeping the America East weekly awards, the Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Ashley Gutshall (Swimmer of the Week), Nicol Davanzo (Rookie of the Week) and Joella Mills (Rookie of the Week) were all honored.

Gutshall won a pair of events, the 50 free (24.12) and 200 back (2:14.55) this past weekend, while Mills won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 227.93 and placed second in the 3-meter with a score of 227.10

Davanzo earned her second Rookie of the Week award of the season after she won the 200 IM in 2:21.69 and took third in the 50 free in 25.43 this past weekend.

The Retrievers have the weekend off before traveling to Bucknell next weekend for a three day invitational.
