BOSTON -- UMBC Volleyball freshman Claudia Llamas has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, the Conference announced on Tuesday morning. 

Llamas came off the bench for the final four sets on Sunday and had a career-best performance, hitting for .393 with 13 kills, eight digs, two blocks, and one assist. 

The Retrievers look to rebound from the five set loss when they host NJIT on Friday night at 6 p.m. UMBC defeated the Highlanders in four sets up in Newark last month. 

The match will also be the Hometown Heroes match as there will be a camo hat giveaway to the first 200 fans. Hometown heroes also will receive free admission to the game (this includes active military, veterans, police, fire, EMTs, doctors, nurses, teachers, etc).
