BOSTON -- Bruna de Padua and Nicol Davanzo were named the America East Swimmer and Rookie of the Week, respectively, the Conference announced on Tuesday afternoon.

de Padua had a sensational weekend at the Thomas Murphy Invitational, winning the 200 and 500 free, both in America East best times (1:49.78 and 4:54.63). 

She also posted the two fastest times in the Conference in the 100 and 200 back (57.00 and 2:02.69).

Davanzo placed third in the 100 fly (55.96) and fourth in the 200 fly (2:06.34). Her time in the 100 was the fastest in the America East so far this season.

UMBC has the weekend off before hosting VMI and Saint Peter's on November 9.
