BALTIMORE, MD - The UMBC women's soccer team went toe-to-toe with Navy for most of the afternoon but fell to the Midshipmen, 4-1, in a non-conference contest on Sunday at Retriever Soccer Park.

Meghan McKye teamed up for a tremendous goal in the 51
st minute to even the score at 1-1, however, the visitors scored three unanswered markers en route to the victory.

Navy (4-1-3) took a 1-0 lead just 4:27 into the second half as junior midfielder Rylee Rives headed in a corner kick from classmate Amanda Graziano (goal, 2 assists).Â

The Retrievers (2-6-0) responded less than two minutes later after a free kick. Binko collected a loose ball along the left sideline and sent a gorgeous cross to a wide open McKye. McKye received the feed at the top of the center of the box, advanced the ball a couple of yards, and then beat Navy goalkeeper Mattie Gallagher (4 saves) with a high shot just underneath the center of the crossbar.

The visitors notched the game-winner in the 57
th minute on yet another header off a corner. Graziano found junior defender Tatum Kelly along the far post and Kelly was able to direct the winner past Retrievers' junior keeper
Abbey Cowles (7 saves).

Kay Healey (79') and Graziano (89') added late goals to extend the lead.

UMBC outshot Navy by a 7-4 count in the opening half but the Mids had 15 opportunities compared to the Retrievers' five chances in the final forty-five.

Navy attempted seven corners compared to UMBC's three.
