Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. -- The UMBC Volleyball team gave Big South favorite and 2022 No.52 RPI High Point all it could handle before falling in four sets (14-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-21).
Kamani Conteh (New Castle, Del.) had a match-high 23 kills on .302 hitting, while
Julija Grubisic Cabo (Maribor, Slovenia) had her first career double-double finishing with 11 kills and 11 digs, and
Mia Bilusic (Zagreb, Croatia) had 12 kills.
Aysia Miller (Mililani, Hawaii) had another stellar all-around match finishing with 30 assists, 15 digs and eight kills (.368 hitting).

Hannah Howard (Inwood, W.Va.) continued to shine, collecting 20 digs and five assists
How it happened:
- After High Point (1-1) went up 7-2 early, UMBC responded with a 23-7 run, capped by a 14-1 outburst, to take the first set.
- UMBCÂ (1-1)Â held a 19-15 lead in the second set, but HPU went on a 6-0 run and eventually took the set, 25-23
- The third set was back-and-forth until a panthers run midway through gave them a seven point lead that they would not relinquish
- The fourth set was another tight one, as the team alternated points for most of the sets, before HPU used a 5-1 run late to go up 22-20 and take the match
The Retrievers face another strong opponent when they close the weekend against host James Madison on Sunday at 2 p.m.Â
