Softball Heads to UAlbany for Weekend Series

The UMBC Softball team gets back to America East action when it heads to UAlbany for a three game series with the Great Danes. The series begins with a double-header on Saturday at 1 p.m.,  and will conclude with a single game on Sunday at noon.


Scouting UMBC: 
  • The Retrievers took two of three in their series at UMass Lowell
  • Graduate student Courtney Coppersmith was named America East Pitcher of the week, after she picked up a a pir of saves abd recording 20 strikeouts and an earned run in 12.1 innings pitched, .
  • Sophomore pitcher Kya Matter leads the America East with a 1.36 ERA in 92.2 innings pitched. 
  • Junior Ashley Della Guardia is fourth in the America East with a .553 slugging percentage and sophomore Jerzie Nutile is right behind her teammate with a .531. 
Scouting UAlbany
  • The Great Danes dropped two of three at Binghamton this past weekend and are now 4-3 in the America East conference. 
  • UAlbany leads the America East in batting with a .301 percentage. 
  • Sophomore utility player Sierra Fretz (.659) and Senior outfielder Morgan Petty (.628) lead the America East in slugging percentage.
