Women's Basketball Plays Host to New Hampshire for Senior Day on Saturday

The UMBC Women's Basketball team plays its final regular home game when it welcomes New Hampshire to The Peake for Senior Day on Saturday. 

Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN3, with the senior ceremony beginning at 1:40 p.m.

Last Time Out:

  • The UMBC Women's Basketball team's late rally fell short as they dropped a 74-67 contest to first-place UAlbany on Wednesday night at The Peake.
  • Dixon finished 17 points, White had 16, McCalla had 14 and Bell added 10.
  • Senior forward Kiara Bell posted her third double-double in her last four outings with both a dozen points and rebounds.
  • UMBC fell to 12-13 and 9-5 in the America East
  • The Retrievers have won nine America East games for the first time since winning 10 in 2016-17
Scouting New Hampshire:
  • The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to Vermont, 43-36 on Wednesday evening from Lundholm.
  • Freshman guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) lead the team with 12 points while junior guard Adara Groman (Hopkinton, Mass.) collected seven rebounds for the Wildcats.
  •  The Wildcats' record fell to 7-18 (2-11 AE) 

SERIES HISTORY

  • New Hampshire leads the all-time series, 19-18, but UMBC took the last two meetings, both on the road.
  • On 1/21/23, Ashia McCalla (Greenbelt, Md.) scored a game-high 18 points prior to fouling out late in the 2nd half and KK White (Indianapolis, Ind.) added 11 points as the UMBC Women's Basketball team came away with a wild, 62-57, overtime victory at New Hampshire
  • Bell finished with nine points and a game-best 10 rebounds, while Drake added four points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block
