BALTMORE – Binghamton's Markos Touroukis scored in the 79' and the sixth-seeded Bearcats nipped No. 3 UMBC, 1-0, in the America East Conference Quarterfinals before over 1,400 fans at Retriever Soccer Park.

UMBC had three attempts to the tie the score in the final two minutes. The best opportunity occurred when senior forward Loc San crossed the ball from right to left with under 20 seconds to play. Junior forward Spencer Hanks got the ball out of a scramble deep

The Retrievers had another attempt on an ensuing corner in the last second, but it was blocked by a Bearcat defender.

The Retrievers' season comes to an end with a mark of 7-4-5.

After a scoreless first half, UMBC had a golden opportunity to strike first in 49' when senior forward Taylor Calheira was taken down in the box after a magnificent run of 35 yards. But McDermott made the save on his penalty kick and UMBC could not get to the rebound.

McDermott also made a leaping save on Dillon Nesteruk's volley in the 65'.

UMBC attempted 10 second half shots after just a pair in the first 45 minutes. Sophomore goalkeeper Emigdio Tormo Lopez recorded seven saves on 13 Bearcat shots.
