BALTIMORE – UMBC clinched a home berth in the upcoming America East Conference Men's Soccer Championships by recording a 2-2 draw versus Binghamton in the regular season finale.

Similar to last season, the Retrievers will once again have another home match-up with the Bearcats. The third-seeded UMBC side (7-3-2, 3-1-3 America East) will meet No. 6 Binghamton (4-9-3, 2-2-3) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 on the Bermuda turf of Retriever Soccer Park.

For the second consecutive game, the Retrievers dominated the shot chart, cranking off 20 shots, while holding Binghamton to seven.

The visitors took the lead in the 6', as BU's Anthony Lazaridis knocked down a clearing effort from UMBC goalkeeper Emigdio Tormo Lopez and knocked in the loose ball.

UMBC had a bevy of chances in the first half and finally knotted the score with 1:37 to play before the half. A pair of seniors – Tyler Harry and Hans Nesheim – set up freshman Ryan Calheira, who scored his first collegiate goal in just his second contest. He re-directed Nesheim's header past BU netminder Dylan McDermott from a sharp right-side angle.

UMBC outshot BU, 14-2, in the first half.

The game remain tied until the 83', when senior forward Taylor Calheira chipped a ball from the left side towards the right post. Senior midfielder William Forby laid it off to a charging Nesheim and the defender buried a nine-yarder inside the right post.
But Binghamton got the game-tying goal in the 85', as Markos Touroukis 20-yard shot after a failed UMBC clearance snuck inside the left post.

UMBC's one conference loss is the fewest since a 6-0-1 slate in 2014. The America East Conference was ranked No. 5 amongst all NCAA Division I conferences in the RPI ratings.
