Durham, N.H. -- The UMBC Volleyball team outhit host New Hampshire over the course of the match, but attack errors doomed them en route to a 3-1 loss (15-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-20) at New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon.
The Retrievers had 49 kills to the Wildcats 42, but 29 attack errors were ten more than the host and were the difference.
UMBC drops to 11-7 and 5-2 in the America East, while UNH improves to 13-8 and 3-3 in AE play.
Kamani Conteh led all players with 12 kills, and
Aysia Miller picked up a double-double with 19 assists and 13 digs.
Julija Grubisic Cabo paced the defense with 14 digs, while classmate
Hannah Howard had 10 digs in three sets of work.
Michela De Marzi had nine kills on .500 hitting to go with two blocks. Fellow middle blocker
Mila Ilieva had seven kills and a team-best six blocks.
Serin Maden added 18 assists and seven digs in the contest.
The Retrievers close non-conference play at Howard on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
