For the second-consecutive week, UMBC Volleyball freshman Serin Maden (Ankara, Turkey) has been named America East Setter of the Week, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning. In addition, junior libero Aysia Miller (Mililani, Hawaii) was tabbed as the Defensive Specialist of the Week.

Maden Repeats as America East Setter of the Week; Miller Named Defensive Specialist of the Week

BOSTON -- For the second-consecutive week, UMBC Volleyball freshman Serin Maden (Ankara, Turkey) has been named America East Setter of the Week, the Conference announced on Wednesday morning. In addition, junior libero Aysia Miller (Mililani, Hawaii) was tabbed as the Defensive Specialist of the Week.

Maden averaged 10.89 assists per set as the team hit .377 in a 1-1 week. She posted career-high 53 assists with four digs in five-set win over Delaware, and had double-double of 45 assists and 10 digs in four-set loss to American.

Miller averaged 4.78 digs per set in 1-1 week with 11 assists. She also totaled a career-high 30 digs with seven assists in a win over Delaware.

The Retrievers will host a tournament at The Peake beginning on Friday. UMBC will face JMU at 6 p.m. on Friday, and then will take on Niagara at 2 p.m. on Sunday. JMU and Niagara will play each other on Saturday at 2 p.m.

There will be a pre-match ceremont on Friday to unveil the 2021 America East Championship banner.
