Serin Maden (Ankara, Turkey) has been named America East Setter of the Week. Sophomore outside hitter
Mia Bilusic (Zagreb, Croatia) was named America East Player of the Week after her stellar play in a 2-0 weekend for UMBC.
Maden averaged 11.1 assists per set with 22 total digs and four aces in the 2-0 week. She finished with 52 assists, 11 digs and three aces in a five-set win over James Madison, and then had 48 assists with 11 digs in a four-set win versus Niagara.
Bilusic averaged 4.56 kills per set while hitting .345 with a pair of double-doubles in the two wins. She posted 22 kills, 12 digs and 22.5 points in a five-set win over James Madison, and then totaled 19 kills, 10 digs and six aces in a four-set win against Niagara.
UMBC (4-3) travels to Richmond for a tournament at VCU this weekend. The open weekend play against Old Dominion at 3 p.m. on Friday.
